Hex Technologies is seeking an AI Engineering Lead to shape the future of our AI engineering function. You will define strategy, hire and mentor a world-class AI team, and collaborate with product and engineering to accelerate our platform’s capabilities.

The role is based in SF or NY with in-office days recommended. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of leadership experience, deep AI knowledge (LLMs, transformer models, agentic workflows), and a focus on delivering business value and customer

Qualifications

• 4+ years of people management experience leading high-performing teams.
• Deep familiarity with modern AI technology, LLMs, and transformer models.
• Interest in agentic workflows, context management, and agentic evals.
• Strong communicator with ability to collaborate across roles and teams.
• Talent magnet capable of attracting AI talent and delivering value.

Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date on AI tech and push product capabilities with engineering teams.
• Define and implement the future of the AI Engineering function as Hex scales.
• Hire and mentor an exceptional team of AI Engineers.
• Support developer and research experience for teams working with AI tech.
• Deliver high-performing shared AI infrastructure, including search systems.
