Job summary

CACI is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop, test, and support AI-enabled applications and agent-based solutions for U.S. federal clients, emphasizing secure, reliable capabilities that integrate AI models with enterprise data and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 10 years in AI/ML or related field; alternatives listed in ad.
• At least 5 years of software engineering, application development, or AI/ML experience.
• Experience developing software apps/services with Python and APIs.
• Hands-on experience building generative AI apps that integrate with data and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain AI-enabled applications and services.
• Implement AI and agent workflows using LangChain or Microsoft Agent Framework or similar.
• Develop RAG capabilities, including data ingestion, retrieval, grounding, and integration with enterprise sources.
• Integrate AI models with APIs, enterprise apps, and business workflows with appropriate tool use and human review.
• Work with product owners and functional specialists to translate needs into designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain application components, APIs, and services using Python.
• Create and run automated tests to assess accuracy, relevance, grounding, safety, and performance.
• Troubleshoot application and model behavior; use telemetry and feedback to improve quality.
• Support deployment and operations, including CI/CD, monitoring, and documentation.
• Apply security and privacy requirements, including identity controls and data protection.
• Collaborate with data, cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and software teams to integrate solutions.
• Contribute reusable components and engineering practices for consistency.
• Familiarity with AI safety frameworks such as the NIST AI Safety Framework to support alignment controls.
• Contribute to AI Safety/Alignment policies and procedures for ethical AI systems.
