Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking an AI Engineering Lead in Washington, DC to build and guide a multidisciplinary team delivering secure, production-ready AI applications and agent-based solutions for a critical federal contract.

You will shape the technical direction across the software lifecycle, from discovery through sustainment, with emphasis on safety, security, and enterprise integration. You will lead integration efforts using LangChain and agent frameworks, drive RAG implementations,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; 15+ years in AI, ML, software engineering or related field.
Experience designing, building, and supporting production software that integrates AI models with enterprise data and APIs.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary AI/engineering teams and translate mission needs into technical roadmaps.

Responsibilities

Lead a multidisciplinary team including AI and software engineers, data engineers, analysts, UX specialists, and DevSecOps staff.
Provide technical direction across AI applications, architecture, testing, deployment, and operations.
Lead retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and tool integrations with enterprise data and business processes.
Translate objectives into product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery roadmaps.
Establish engineering standards for Python, APIs, CI/CD, code review, and secure software delivery.
Monitor AI system quality, latency, cost, and safety; guide continuous improvements.
