Job summary

Parsons is seeking an AI Engineer to join a mission-focused team supporting national defense objectives. You will work with a cross-functional group of data scientists, software and DevOps engineers to build AI-powered solutions using LLMs, RAG, and AI agents.

You will design AI infrastructure, apply MLOps practices, and stay current with new AI tools. A TS/SCI w/Poly clearance and strong ML background are required for this federal role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; 12+ years experience or Master’s degree with 10+ years experience.
• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and deployment
• Experience with generative AI technologies including LLMs, RAG, embeddings and vector databases
• Knowledge of AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, APIs, containerization, and scalable deployment architectures

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize AI-powered applications using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and other AI technologies.
• Design and maintain AI infrastructure including model serving, vector databases, orchestration, APIs and cloud services.
• Apply MLOps best practices for model lifecycle management, reproducibility, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate new AI tools and frameworks and recommend adoption where beneficial.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software and DevOps engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot and optimize AI systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Adapt to evolving tech and project requirements while delivering high-quality results.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Build andoptimizeAI-powered applications using large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, and other emerging AI technologies.
• Design andmaintainAI infrastructure, including model serving, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, APIs, and cloud-based AI services.
• Apply MLOps best practices for model lifecycle management, reproducibility, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate new AI tools, frameworks, and technologies, recommending adoption where they improve capability, efficiency, or scalability.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, DevOps engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participatein architecture discussions, code reviews, technical planning, and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Troubleshoot andoptimizeAI systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Adapt quickly to evolving technologies, changing priorities, and new project requirements whilemaintaininghigh-quality deliverables.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityina related discipline and12+ years of experience; or a Master’sdegreeand10+ years of experience
• Active TS/SCIw/Poly
• Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced mission environments
• Ability toidentifyand elevate operational risks early
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, model development, evaluation, and deployment.
• Experience with generative AI technologies, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAGarchitectures, AI agents, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Knowledge of AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and scalable deployment architectures.
• Proficiencyin Python and common AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g.,PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn,LangChain,LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or similar).

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Experience supporting USCYBERCOM, NSA, DoD cyber operations, or related mission environments
• Experience inCyber Security,orcloud computing

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.
