Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh, WI, is seeking an AI Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to AI and intelligent software across engineering and product platforms.

You may work in machine learning, computer vision, edge AI, embedded systems, vehicle intelligence, connectivity, or software-defined vehicle technologies, collaborating with engineering teams to develop, test, and deploy solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Coursework or experience in AI, machine learning, computer vision, embedded systems, software development, or statistics.
• Programming experience with Python, C++, or other relevant programming languages; familiarity with Linux.

Responsibilities

• Designing, training, evaluating, and deploying ML/AI models on GPUs, cloud or edge devices.
• Processing and analyzing structured and unstructured datasets, including imagery and sensor data.
• Developing data pipelines and model deployment workflows from cloud to edge.
• Integrating AI/ML models into applications, embedded systems, ECUs, or vehicle platforms.
• Assisting in software modules for vehicle intelligence, connectivity, automation, and features.
• Testing embedded and AI-enabled applications across hardware, networks, and software environments.
• Using simulation environments to validate algorithms, models, and system functionality.
• Documenting designs, test procedures, and performance results.
