Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh, WI is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience designing, developing, and testing electrical systems for Oshkosh vehicles and products.

You will work with Electrical Engineers and cross-functional teams on vehicle electrical systems, embedded controls, wire harness design, electrical schematics, and component selection, applying classroom knowledge to real engineering challenges during the summer internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and integration of vehicle electrical and embedded control systems.
• Assist with electrical system architecture, component selection, and design activities.
• Select components with consideration for performance, quality, reliability, cost, weight, and manufacturability.
• Develop wire harness designs using 3D modeling tools such as CATIA or CREO.
• Create and update electrical schematics using tools such as E3 Series or CREO Schematics.
• Support circuit analysis and other engineering calculations.
• Develop and maintain bills of materials and engineering documentation.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production vehicle builds on the assembly floor.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and provide technical support during vehicle builds and testing.
• Participate in testing and validation activities to evaluate electrical system performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, manufacturing teams, and other engineering disciplines to solve technical challenges.
• Identify opportunities to improve electrical designs, processes, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Document engineering findings, design decisions, test results, and recommendations.
