DriveWealth in Chicago is seeking an AI Engineering intern to tackle real agentic automation problems, designing and prototyping AI-powered agents to help the business move faster. You will work with senior engineers, learning GenAI patterns in a fintech setting.

The summer program runs 10–12 weeks from May to August 2027 and requires in-office presence 3–4 days per week; compensation is an hourly rate of $35-$40. Graduation in 2027 or 2028 is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in CS, ML, math or engineering.
• Strong Python programming and SQL experience for automation and prototyping.
• Familiarity with APIs, JSON, and service integration.
• Foundational understanding of large language models and real-world use cases.
• Willingness to explore rapidly evolving AI tech with a growth mindset.
• Ability to reason about workflows, edge cases and clear communication.

Responsabilités

• Design, prototype, and develop agentic AI workflows that automate or augment tasks.
• Build internal tools or proof-of-concept systems that combine LLMs and automation frameworks.
• Experiment with agent architectures and document tradeoffs.
• Apply best practices in AI-driven automation.
• Evaluate agent behavior for reliability and propose improvements.
• Document designs, experiments, and lessons for reuse by the team.
• Demo work to customers and leadership.
