Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an AI Engineer II to design and ship internal AI-powered tools end-to-end. You’ll own AI-powered applications, workflow automations, and integrations from concept through production, pairing with business stakeholders and growing into fuller ownership.

This hands-on role requires shipping production code, evaluating new AI capabilities, and collaborating withSales Operations and Revenue Analytics to deliver measurable outcomes. Hybrid/remote options apply per team policy.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years hands-on software, data products, or AI-powered tool experience.
• Strong Python and SQL with data analysis and app development experience.
• Hands-on ML skills including regression, classification, feature engineering.
• Experience with large structured datasets using Snowflake or cloud data platforms.
• Experience building REST APIs/backend services using FastAPI or similar.
• Proven ability to ship tools to real users and measure outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills; capable of learning new tech.

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal AI-powered tools and web apps end-to-end, including front-end, back-end, data, API, and LLM integrations.
• Own AI applications, workflows, and systems integrations from requirements to production.
• Collaborate with Sales Operations and Revenue Analytics to translate business problems into scalable solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate AI models, APIs, and frameworks based on business needs and feasibility.
• Develop production-quality apps with testing, docs, monitoring, and maintainability.
• Build reusable AI capabilities and patterns for cross-team use cases.
• Communicate designs and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
