Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an AI Engineer II to design and ship internal AI-powered tools end-to-end. You will own AI-powered applications, workflow automations, and integrations from concept to production, partnering with stakeholders to deliver measurable value across the organization.

This hands-on role requires writing production code, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience with ML workflows. The position offers hybrid work arrangements and opportunities to grow into broader ownership.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on software, data products, or AI-powered tool experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with data analysis and application development.
• Hands-on experience with ML and statistical modeling including regression and classification.
• Experience with large structured datasets using Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms.
• Experience developing REST APIs and backend services using FastAPI or similar frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal AI-powered tools and web applications end-to-end (front-end, back-end, data, API).

• Own AI applications, workflow automations, and systems integrations from design to production deployment.
• Collaborate with Sales Operations and Revenue Analytics to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate new AI models, APIs, and development approaches based on feasibility and impact.
• Develop production-quality applications with testing, documentation, monitoring and maintainability.
