Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an AI Engineer II to design and ship internal AI-powered tools end-to-end. You will own AI-powered applications, workflow automations, and integrations from concept through production, collaborating with business stakeholders and growing into fuller ownership at the next level.

This hands-on role requires writing production code, evaluating new AI capabilities, and delivering measurable value while partnering with Sales Operations and Revenue Analytics.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience building software, data products, or AI-powered tools.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with data analysis and app development experience.
• Hands-on ML workflows: regression, classification, feature engineering, evaluation.
• Experience with large structured datasets using Snowflake, relational DBs, or cloud platforms.
• Experience developing or integrating REST APIs and backend services using FastAPI or similar.
• Proven ability to ship functional tools to real users and measure performance.
• Strong communication and teamwork, able to explain tradeoffs to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal AI-powered tools and web apps end-to-end (front-end, back-end, data, API, LLM/AI integrations).
• Own AI applications, workflow automations, and system integrations from requirements to production.
• Collaborate with Sales Ops and Revenue Analytics to translate business problems into scalable tech solutions.
• Evaluate new AI models, APIs, and frameworks based on business needs and feasibility.
• Develop production-grade applications with testing, docs, monitoring and maintainability.
• Build reusable AI capabilities and patterns for use across teams.
• Communicate designs, tradeoffs, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
