Job summary

Insperity in Houston, TX is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer I to contribute to production-grade AI systems under close guidance. You will apply foundational software engineering, data management, and AI skills to build components of AI-powered applications and automated workflows.

You will focus on SQL and data management, learn enterprise AI standards, and develop production software practices while collaborating with teammates to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years in software/data/AI-related development.
• Proficiency in SQL and data management with structured datasets.
• Proficiency in Python for development, scripting, and API integration.
• Introductory experience with generative AI applications and prompts.
• Familiarity with Git and modern development practices.
• Willingness to learn LangChain/LangGraph or similar tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement well-defined AI components, including LLM-based features, under guidance.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts, APIs, and services for AI workflows.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and data transformations for AI systems.
• Support retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) tasks like document ingestion and indexing.
• Assist with evaluation datasets and basic model evaluation procedures.
• Follow testing, documentation, security, and deployment practices for production readiness.
• Identify data issues or model risks and escalate as needed.
