Job summary

Delmar Nord is partnering with a leading private equity firm to hire an AI Engineer for the investment team in Boston. You will sit at the center of AI transformation, building tools for deal sourcing, diligence, and portfolio analytics, and work directly with senior investors.

You'll own end-to-end projects, explore new AI capabilities, and bridge the gap between investors and the data science group. A strong hands-on background and ability to deliver concrete results are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, data science, engineering or similar (advanced degree helpful).
• Experience with analytical or technical work; consulting background is a plus.
• Comfortable writing Python and working with APIs; hands-on building mindset.
• Curious by nature and able to separate real value from hype in AI.
• Can turn vague asks into concrete, actionable deliverables without extensive direction.
• Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders, including investors.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI tools across the investment process: sourcing, diligence, portfolio analytics.
• Experiment with AI capabilities (LLMs, agents, automation) and assess usefulness.
• Collaborate with deal teams to turn rough ideas into day-to-day usable tools.
• Share learnings with AI engineers across the business and avoid reinventing wheels.
• Lead pilots with external AI vendors and drive rollout if beneficial.
• Own data pipelines and integrations to keep systems running smoothly.
