Job summary

Point72 is seeking an experienced AI engineer to join the Fundamental Equities strategy. You will work with investment teams, build AI-enabled solutions, and turn ambiguous problems into reliable capabilities.

The role requires 5+ years of software engineering or applied AI, a CS/engineering background, and strong communication. You will collaborate with Technology, Data, and Compliance to deliver production-ready systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or applied AI experience, with a track record of building and shipping useful products or services.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including the ability to build production systems and work effectively with heterogeneous data sources.
• Ability to work directly with experienced investment professionals, scope ambiguous requirements, prioritize effectively, and iterate based on feedback.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior financial experience is not required for this role.
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Partner across investment teams to understand workflows, identify opportunities, and develop clear technical roadmaps.
• Build and test prototypes to develop promising ideas into reliable, production-ready capabilities.
• Articulate model capabilities and limitations, including when outputs require constraints, validation, deterministic logic, or human escalation.
• Work closely with Technology, Data, and Compliance teams on shared capabilities, controls, and specialist expertise.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating between investment needs, system behavior, and delivery trade-offs.
