Job summary

Schwab Technology Services (STS) in Texas is seeking an AI Engineer to drive AI-enabled solutions across the software development lifecycle. You will design, pilot, and scale AI capabilities that improve developer productivity, quality, and standardization while aligning with enterprise delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in software engineering, platform engineering, or developer experience roles.
• Familiarity with NLP, computer vision, or generative AI models.
• Experience designing reference architectures, standards, and guardrails adopted across teams.
• Strong integration skills across delivery ecosystem components (source control, CI/CD, artifact management, container platforms, observability).
• Proven ability to influence engineering leaders and drive adoption across teams without direct authority.
• Proficient in Python, and possibly Java for backend integration.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices for deploying AI models.
• Stay current with trends, tools, and developments in the AI industry and evaluate their applicability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of AI-enabled solutions that improve product quality and developer productivity.
• Design, evolve, and enhance AI solutions to support a diverse group of STS developers.
• Evaluate, pilot, and operationalize emerging AI developer tools and define rollout strategies.
• Build reusable prompts, templates, and AI-augmented workflows.
• Act as a visible champion for AI-assisted development across communities and forums.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to integrate AI into workflows.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for adoption and sustainability.
• Contribute to training programs, enablement materials, and internal communications.
• Continuously evolve the roadmap based on feedback and changing tech trends.
