Job summary

The Blackstone Group L.P. is seeking an AI Engineer to join BXTI’s Data Analytics & AI team in New York. You will embed with business units, translate workflow friction into AI initiatives, and develop production AI solutions using Python and SQL.

You’ll deploy with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Terraform, while promoting a culture of analytics and AI across the firm. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in AI or software roles, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience with LLMs and AI tooling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in AI engineering, software engineering, or data analysis roles.
• Fluency in Python and SQL for data access and warehousing.
• Applied experience with LLMs and AI tooling, including prompt engineering and evaluation.
• Production systems shipped under real user load, not prototypes or scripts.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud deployment technologies.
• Ability to ramp quickly on unfamiliar tools with minimal supervision.
• Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to elicit requirements and shape solutions.
• Background in financial tech or alternative asset management is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document for users and teams.

Responsibilities

• Shadow business units to understand workflows and identify AI opportunities.
• Translate workflow friction into a prioritized pipeline of AI initiatives.
• Develop and maintain production software using Python and SQL.
• Adopt code deployment best practices: Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Terraform.
• Build applied AI solutions and scale adoption with self-service tools.
• Lead talks and training to promote data analytics and AI culture across teams.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and coordinate with BXTI to move PoCs to production deployments.
