Job summary

SkyWest Airlines seeks an Enterprise AI Architect to drive the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise AI solutions across the organization. You will collaborate with business and technology leaders to identify opportunities and deploy AI capabilities that improve efficiency and outcomes.

You will lead projects using large language models, AI agents, Copilot, and Azure AI services, integrating AI into existing apps and data systems while ensuring security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 3+ years in software/developer roles or architecture.
• Experience designing cloud-based solutions and AI/ML systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical projects.
• Cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and API integration experience.
• Familiarity with Copilot, LLMs, RAG, and related AI technologies.

Responsibilities

Primary Job Duties

• Partner with business and technology leaders to identify, assess, and prioritize AI opportunities that improve efficiency, productivity, and business results.
• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise AI solutions using large language models, AI agents, generative AI, machine learning, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services, and related technologies.
• Analyze business processes and workflows to determine where AI, automation, agents, predictive analytics, or traditional software solutions can deliver the most value.
• Work with software engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing applications, APIs, mobile solutions, and business systems.
• Design and oversee RAG solutions, intelligent search platforms, and AI-powered assistants built on enterprise data sources.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in software development, systems architecture, cloud architecture, data engineering, or related technology roles.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.
• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Copilot, or Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and providing architectural guidance across cross-functional teams.

Technical Knowledge

• Experience with one or more major cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with AI and generative AI technologies, including:
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• AI Agents
• Prompt Engineering
• Vector Databases
• Experience integrating enterprise applications using APIs, web services, and cloud services.
• Experience with databases and data platforms, including relational and non-relational systems.
• Experience with software development using modern programming languages such as C# (preferred), Python, Java, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, identity management, data protection, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Experience building solutions using Microsoft Copilot and Azure Foundry
