Job summary

SkyWest Airlines in Utah seeks an AI Engineer to design, build, deploy, and support enterprise AI solutions that drive measurable business value across platforms and data sources.

You will partner with business and technology leaders to prioritize AI opportunities, lead architecture and delivery of AI projects using LLMs, AI agents, Copilot, and Azure services, and work with engineering teams to integrate AI into existing applications and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• 3+ years in software, cloud, or data roles with AI exposure.
• Experience with enterprise AI, LLMs, Copilot, or AI agents is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business and tech leaders to identify AI opportunities that drive impact.
• Lead architecture and delivery of enterprise AI solutions using LLMs, AI agents, Copilot, and Azure services.
• Analyze processes to determine where AI or automation adds value, and collaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI into apps.

Primary Job Duties

The AI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. This role builds and integrates AI-powered applications, agents, APIs, and automation solutions while ensuring security, scalability, performance, and alignment with organizational standards and business objectives.

• Partner with business and technology leaders to identify, assess, and prioritize AI opportunities that improve efficiency, productivity, and business results.
• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise AI solutions using large language models, AI agents, generative AI, machine learning, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services, and related technologies.
• Analyze business processes and workflows to determine where AI, automation, agents, predictive analytics, or traditional software solutions can deliver the most value.
• Work with software engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing applications, APIs, mobile solutions, and business systems.
• Design and oversee RAG solutions, intelligent search platforms, and AI-powered assistants built on enterprise data sources.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in software development, systems architecture, cloud architecture, data engineering, or related technology roles.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.
• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Copilot, or Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and providing architectural guidance across cross‑functional teams.

Technical Knowledge

• Experience with one or more major cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with AI and generative AI technologies, including:
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• AI Agents
• Prompt Engineering
• Vector Databases
• Experience integrating enterprise applications using APIs, web services, and cloud services.
• Experience with databases and data platforms, including relational and non‑relational systems.
• Experience with software development using modern programming languages such as C# (preferred), Python, Java, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, identity management, data protection, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Experience building solutions using Microsoft Copilot and Azure Foundry
