Job summary

Synovus Financial Corp is seeking an IT Engineer to support organization-wide IT systems, including virtualization, security, and networking. The role involves analysis, development, testing, and maintenance of hardware and software, with focus on incident response and runbooks.

You will assist with AI/ML model integration, monitor production AI applications, and act as escalation point for junior engineers while staying current with new AI technologies and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 to 7 years of experience supporting a variety of technologies including virtualization.
• Familiarity with retrieval augmented generation (RAG) techniques.
• Understanding of cloud hosting architecture and proper server management.
• Knowledge of enterprise cloud security, firewall, and network concepts.
• Ability to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and emerging financial crime trends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure system compliance with network and firewall security standards.
• Support the integration of machine learning models and AI algorithms into existing IT systems and applications.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents relating to production AI applications.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices to continuously improve IT operations.
• Assist with system design reviews and software testing.
• Provides input on complex projects, often serving as a subject-matter-expert.
• Supports and deploys business partner software and packages.
• Modifies and/or debugs business partner-supplied utilities and packages.
• Monitors system capacity and performance using a broad set of tools.
• Provides technical support to various departments and users.
• Identifies troublesome trends and develops plans designed to resolve issues and prevent recurrences.
• Serves as escalation point for junior engineers
• Acts as subject-matter-expert for area of responsibility.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Firm authority in a timely fashion.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Provides support to internal lines of business across the technology infrastructure including analysis, development, modification, installation, testing, and maintenance of hardware, software, networking, and security for a variety of systems. Troubleshoots issues, makes recommendations, and responds to and solves incidents and client requests based on standard operating procedures and runbooks. Assists and serves as a point of escalation for junior team members.

Minimum Education:
