Role Overview
You own the commercial and relationship layer of each Forward Deployed Engineering engagement. This means carrying the working relationship with customer project managers, PMO directors, and program staff from pilot kickoff through steady-state operations and into expansion. You track SLA performance, drive billing cycles, coordinate with the delivery pod on customer-facing progress, and lay the groundwork for the next agent contract.
FDE engagements start as pilots and grow into multi-year outcome-as-a-service agreements. Managing that commercial arc, in close coordination with the Practice Lead and the delivery team, is the core of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Account Ownership & Relationship Management
- Own the working-level relationship at each assigned account: primary day-to-day contact for customer project managers, PMO directors, and program staff
- Manage customer expectations across the engagement lifecycle from pilot kickoff through steady-state operations and expansion
- Coordinate with the FDE pod on delivery status and translate technical progress into customer-facing updates
- Handle commercial and relationship escalations at the working level, coordinating with the Practice Lead where appropriate
Commercial Management
- Own the commercial lifecycle of each account: monitor contract terms, track deliverables against commitments, and manage renewal and expansion timelines
- Drive billing cycles: validate agent deployment milestones, confirm SLA compliance with customer stakeholders, and approve invoices for submission
- Negotiate and close expansion agreements: scope new agent workflows, price against the commercial model, and secure customer sign-off
- Coordinate with Aurigo's sales and customer success teams to ensure FDE commercial activity aligns with the broader account strategy
Measurement & Reporting
- Define and track performance metrics for each deployed agent in coordination with the Domain SME and Agent Designer
- Present regular progress reviews to customer stakeholders, translating agent performance data into business value terms
- Maintain account health documentation: active agents, contract terms, expansion pipeline, and open issues
Candidate Profile

- Strong communication skills across organizational levels, comfortable presenting to both working staff and agency executives
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred
Preferred
- Prior experience supporting technology deployments inside a DOT, transit agency, water utility, municipality, or other public infrastructure owner
