Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Program Manager, AI Enablement, to lead enterprise AI initiatives with strong governance, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration across Legal, Privacy, Security, Procurement, Product, Engineering, and Operations.

You will drive the operational cadence for AI pilots, onboarding, and vendor governance while ensuring rigorous execution and scalable processes that align with corporate strategy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of program management, operations, governance, or cross-functional technology delivery.
• Experience with enterprise operational programs or cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiarity with FERPA, GDPR, CCPA and other privacy/data protection regulations.
• Experience coordinating contracts, DPAs, MSAs, or vendor governance processes.
• Strong written and verbal executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct the management of Cengage's AI initiatives, ensuring smooth delivery and governance.
• Coordinate vendor risk assessments for AI tools, platforms, and integrations.
• Lead third-party AI intake processes including security, privacy, and contract review.
• Maintain the criteria matrix for AI vendor approvals and connector decisions.
• Partner with Procurement on AI contracts, DPAs, and commercial terms.
• Maintain approved AI vendor list and reassessment cadence.
• Develop governance artifacts including intake workflows, decision logs, and status reports.
• Coordinate collaborators across AI Enablement, Legal, Privacy, Security, Procurement, Product, Engineering, and Operations.
• Track program achievements, risks, and readiness across AI initiatives.
• Support scaling of AI enablement activities including onboarding, documentation, and process standardization.
