Job summary

Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation in Birmingham, AL seeks a Director of AI to lead hands-on AI solutions, design scalable platforms, and drive adoption across the enterprise. You will partner with IT, Cybersecurity, Data, and PMO to turn strategy into dependable production‑grade capabilities.

The role requires 5+ years in software/automation, a CS/engineering degree, and strong experience with Azure, Copilot Studio, and the Power Platform.

Qualifications

5+ years of software development, automation, IT solutions, analytics, or related technical field.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field preferred.
Hands-on experience with the Microsoft ecosystem—Azure, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform.
Experience deploying or managing solutions in Azure (functions, storage, identity, AI services).
DevOps experience with release management and deployment pipelines.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging across apps, workflows, data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and support AI solutions using Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and Power Platform.
Diagnose and resolve agent failures, workflow issues, and integration errors.
Evaluate, pilot, benchmark emerging AI tools, and recommend approaches.
Use Python for data preparation, automation, and rapid prototyping.
Set technical standards for prompt engineering, agent configuration, and reusable frameworks.
Manage promotions through Development, UAT, Production with DevOps practices.
Translate business needs into technical solutions with Data, IT, and Cybersecurity teams.
Support transition of prototypes to production and drive adoption.
Engage external experts and vendors to maximize value.
