Lamp Rynearson, Inc. is creating a ground-floor role to lead AI and emerging technology adoption company-wide. Reporting to the COO, you will define practical roadmaps, build tools, and elevate technology literacy across engineering, project delivery, and operations.

As a self-directed technologist, you will evaluate software, automate workflows, partner with IT, and communicate with non-technical staff. You’ll drive governance, cybersecurity basics, and training programs while measuring ROI on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 2-10 years in a technology, software development, data, or IT strategy role, including evaluating and implementing new technology.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) to build internal tools and automate workflows.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML tools, including LLM-based tools and low-code/no-code AI, to real business problems.
• Strong communicator who can translate technical ideas for non-technical staff and translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Ability to operate as a “team of one” and report directly to executive leadership.

Responsabilités

• Set the firm's AI and emerging technology strategy and build a practical, sequenced adoption roadmap.
• Research new software and technology relevant to civil engineering practice and make build/buy/adopt recommendations.
• Coordinate activities with IT Group and CAD Manager.
• Design, build, and maintain internal tools, scripts, and automations for engineering and operations staff.
• Be the go-to resource for technology questions, providing hands-on troubleshooting and informal training.
• Partner with the COO on budget, priorities, and ROI reporting for technology initiatives.
• Establish guardrails around data security, responsible AI use, and governance.
• Drive technology literacy across a workforce of engineers.
