TrendAI, the AI security unit of Trend Micro, seeks a Threat Detection & Response Engineer to research AI-era threats and to build detection-and-response capabilities for the platform. This mid-level IC role blends threat research with hands-on engineering, collaborating with threat intelligence, detection engineering, and AI/ML teams to translate findings into practical improvements.

In this role you will investigate emerging threats, prototype defenses, and contribute to production-quality

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity, software engineering, or a related technical field, with exposure to threat detection and response.
• Experience building or contributing to technical systems that reached production.
• Familiarity with security tooling and operational workflows, and an interest in how they integrate.
• Basic familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application to threat detection, and awareness of frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsabilidades

• Threat & technology research into AI-era threats and summarize findings.
• Detection engineering to build and refine detection-and-response capabilities.
• Prototyping and experimentation to test defensive approaches and document specifications.
• Collaboration with multiple teams to move prototypes toward production-ready capabilities.
