Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a driven Quality Engineer to advance AI-driven testing across mission-critical applications. You will design and maintain test automation using Java and Python, perform API and database testing, and own quality for selected features.

Ideal candidates have 0–1 years in QA/QE, hands-on automation, and familiarity with STLC, Agile, and CI/CD. Relocation to Cognizant offices may be required as part of placement.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of professional QA/QE experience.
• Hands-on experience building test automation scripts in Java and Python.
• Understanding of STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications (chatbots/AI/ML).
• Experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks and CI/CD concepts/tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints using Postman or Rest Assured.
• Execute SQL queries for DB testing to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for features and collaborate with product managers and developers.
• Track testing progress with JIRA, ADO, or ALM and report defects.
