Job summary

Cognizant in the United States is seeking a Quality Engineer to advance our AI-driven testing practice. You will design and maintain automation in Java and Python, perform API and database testing, and collaborate with product managers and developers to ensure robust quality across intelligent applications.

You will work with modern tools (JIRA, CI/CD, Postman, Swagger) and explore AI-assisted testing approaches to improve accuracy, reliability, and coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 year of professional QA/Quality Engineering experience.
• Hands-on with test automation scripts in Java and Python.
• Familiar with STLC, Agile/Scrum, and CI/CD environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered apps such as chatbots or AI/ML systems.
• Experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks, CI/CD tooling, and cloud basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints via Swagger/Postman/Rest Assured.
• Conduct SQL-based database testing to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for features, write test cases, execute suites, and sign off.
• Track progress using JIRA/ADO/ALM and understand CI/CD concepts.
• Test AI/ML applications, including chatbots, for accuracy and edge cases.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate test script development and data tasks.
