Tailscale is hiring for an AI-native Strategic Projects engineer. You will work with product-minded engineers to move prototypes such as MCP gateways and LLM proxies toward production readiness, ensuring security, observability, and maintainability across release cycles.

You will collaborate with reference customers on integrations, contribute to production-grade code, and thrive in a fully remote, fast-paced startup-like environment across North America.

Qualifications

• Experience taking software from prototype to production in startup-like environments.
• Strong at hardening, stabilizing, and maintaining production software with attention to edge cases and operational gaps.
• Comfort with integrating third-party APIs and basic networking.

Responsabilités

• Shape prototypes to production readiness (MCP gateways, LLM proxies, sandboxes, remote servers).
• Co-own the journey from demo to stable in production—hardening, error handling, observability, tooling.
