Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software leader to act as a technical innovator and cross-functional architect in Illinois. You will collaborate with data science, product, and engineering teams to build resilient, low-latency systems for experimentation, audience segmentation, and journey decisioning.

The role requires strong experience in Python/Java/Go/SQL, extensive cloud proficiency across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and hands-on ML integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• “6+ years of software engineering experience; internship not counted.”
• “4+ years of distributed streaming and cloud services experience.”

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical innovator and cross-functional architect.
• Partner with data science, product, and engineering teams on resilient, system-level architectures.
• Architect and scale high-performance systems and engines for experimentation, audience segmentation, and journey decisioning.
• Optimize message effectiveness and analyze customer responsiveness using advanced ML models and personalization techniques.
• Integrate AI, agentic workflows, and distributed streaming architectures.
• Power journey orchestration, automated creative testing, and targeted segment delivery across products, messages, and channels.
• Mentor and guide software engineers.
• Cultivate technical excellence, continuous experimentation, and hands-on innovation.
