Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Senior AI Architect to lead design, development, and deployment of large-scale AI systems. You will drive enterprise architectural direction using agentic systems, LLMs, and event-driven architectures while modernizing legacy software and establishing governance for responsible AI.

The role requires deep distributed-systems expertise, strong programming in Python/Java, and proven leadership to mentor teams and influence enterprise decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; and a minimum of 15 years in software engineering or an equivalent background.
• Experience delivering production-grade AI/ML systems at scale.
• Experience building agentic systems or complex LLM-based applications.
• Experience modernizing large, complex legacy systems.
• Experience delivering high-quality systems.
• Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, or similar.
• Deep experience with APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Must be within reasonable commuting distance from a posting location unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale, production-grade AI systems and platforms.
• Architect scalable AI solutions using agentic systems, LLMs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Define enterprise-wide technical direction, architecture patterns, integration standards, and reusable platform capabilities.
• Lead AI-driven modernization of legacy systems through automated code transformation and service decomposition.
• Design and implement AI-enabled software development lifecycle practices.
• Establish technical standards, governance, monitoring, evaluation, and responsible-AI best practices.
• Partner with engineering teams to enable adoption of AI-assisted development.
• Drive continuous improvement in system performance and productivity.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
• Influence enterprise technology decisions through deep expertise and hands-on engineering.
