Job summary

TRM Labs seeks a Strategic Finance Lead, AI & R&D to guide investments in AI, cloud, and compute for its products. You will be the finance partner to the CTO and R&D leadership, turning complex usage data into actionable recommendations shaping major investment decisions.

You’ll design the financial architecture for R&D, with AI integrated into how the work gets done, and report to the Head of Strategic Finance and FP&A within a small, high-leverage team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, or related roles.
• Proven end-to-end ownership of influential work.
• Strong data-informed modeling skills including driver-based forecasts.
• Hands-on experience with cloud, AI, and usage-based costs; partner with engineering leaders.
• Judgement and communication to senior technical leaders; translate financials to plain language.
• Applied AI fluency in modeling, research, or recurring workflows.

Responsibilities

• Shape TRM's AI, cloud, and compute investment in R&D.
• Build AI-assisted, driver-based economic models connecting usage and billing.
• Lead AI spend strategy with the Head of AI; advise where to commit or consolidate.
• Own planning, forecasting, and headcount capacity with automated workflows.
• Lead investment cases from business case to decision to measurement with AI scenarios.
