Job summary

Sonos is seeking a seasoned professional to enhance how software teams work by designing and refining processes, workflows, and operational systems. You will help build an AI-enabled lifecycle, leverage automation and APIs, and establish metrics to improve productivity, quality, and organizational health.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in software engineering or related roles focused on improving how software teams work.
• Experience designing and improving processes, workflows, tools, or operating systems—not just administering established ones.
• Hands-on experience with engineering tools (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, CI/CD) and cloud services.
• Practical experience using AI tools in your work and interest in applying AI to engineering workflows.
• Experience using data and metrics to understand problems, evaluate improvements, and drive decisions.
• Ability to work with engineers and technical leaders and communicate across audiences.
• Must be able to work from the office 3 days per week.
• Must live within commuting distance of Boston office.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve processes, workflows, tools, and operating mechanisms across the Sonos software development organization.
• Help build an AI-enabled software development lifecycle with AI agents, automation, APIs, and deterministic workflows.
• Develop engineering metrics and feedback systems to measure productivity, quality, flow, and health.
• Define and operate planning and execution mechanisms for multiple autonomous teams in a shared model.
• Identify bottlenecks, implement improvements, and measure outcomes with engineering teams.
• Turn complex processes into scalable systems requiring less constant coordination.
• Use data to evaluate changes and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to road-mapping, work-tracking, and capacity-planning systems.
