Job summary

Cisco’s CX Engineering organization is seeking a Software Engineer to build AI-enabled Python applications and scalable microservices. You’ll design RESTful APIs, implement CI/CD pipelines with Docker and Kubernetes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.

Experience with AI-assisted development tools and cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, or GCP is valued. Salary ranges reflect U.S. market norms for Richardson, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of related experience or Master’s with 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience in Python development.
• Experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development environments such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor to accelerate the SDLC while maintaining code quality.
• Experience in RESTful API design and relational data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Development: Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications, scalable RESTful APIs, and microservices that incorporate AI/LLM capabilities.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Implement CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Quality & Reliability: Ensure operational stability through Pytest suites, code reviews, post-mortems, and on-call rotations.
• Collaboration: Partner with design and product management to translate requirements into delivered features.
