Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina is seeking a Software Engineer to drive design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-native and on-premises solutions with a strong emphasis on secure coding and AI-enabled features.

This hybrid role requires hands-on leadership across the SDLC and collaboration across global teams. You will work with Kubernetes, Python, and CI/CD pipelines, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to governance and responsible AI initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelors + 7 years of related experience, or Masters + 4 years of related experience, or PhD + 1 year of related experience, or equivalent related work experience
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and on-prem environments with Kubernetes
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks, generative AI, and large language models
• Lead end-to-end delivery with strong SDLC, Agile, and secure coding practices in cloud and on-prem environments

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and delivery of scalable software solutions across cloud-native and on-prem environments
• Own the technical lifecycle of complex projects with emphasis on secure coding and UX
• Integrate AI-enabled frameworks and development tools to accelerate product capabilities
• Manage end-to-end implementation and mentor junior engineers
