Job summary

Empower LLC in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Security Automation Engineer to strengthen cybersecurity and improve operational efficiency through Python-based automation. The role collaborates with governance, risk, compliance and other security teams and focuses on AI-enabled security automation.

You will design, test, deploy, and monitor solutions, develop API-driven integrations, and apply MCP-based capabilities to secure AI tooling and governance. 3+ years of dev experience required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on software development or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python, including production-quality code development and maintenance.
• Experience building API-driven applications and integrations with proper error handling.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and maintainable design.
• Hands-on experience with large language models and MCP-based capabilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms and IaC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain Python-based security automation solutions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to clarify requirements and validate functionality.
• Build API-driven integrations across security tools, cloud platforms, and internal systems.
• Develop automation for data collection, validation, and compliance with tooling standards.
• Advance AI-enabled security automation using MCP and governance controls.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to reusable tooling and documentation.
