Job summary

Empower Retirement, LLC is seeking a Security Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain Python-based security automation solutions that strengthen cybersecurity and efficiency.

You will partner with governance, risk, and other security teams to translate needs into automated, auditable tooling, including AI-enabled automation and MCP governance. A strong background in Python, APIs, and cloud is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python with production-quality code.
• Experience building API-driven applications and integrations.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and validating generated output.
• Hands-on work with large language models and MCP-based capabilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms and IaC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain Python-based security automation solutions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to clarify requirements and validate functionality.
• Build reliable Python apps, APIs, workflows, and reusable libraries.
• Develop API-driven integrations across tools and cloud services, including non-native integrations.
• Create automation for security and compliance, validating cloud resources against standards.
• Develop AI-enabled security automation with MCP and governance controls.
• Contribute to agentic security capabilities and automated code analysis for vulnerabilities.
• Use AI-assisted tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while validating outputs.
• Troubleshoot issues across applications, APIs, cloud infra, data flows, and runtimes.
