Job summary

PSI is seeking a Robotics Engineer to advance AI-driven automation for manufacturing. You will integrate AI, CV, and sensor fusion to improve capability, efficiency, and reliability in production lines near Cincinnati/ Lexington area.

This direct-hire role emphasizes hands-on development, simulation, trials, and collaboration with controls and plant teams to deploy scalable solutions. The role requires strong Python/C++ and ROS experience, plus a track record in automation deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Robotics, CS, Data Science, EE, ME, or related field (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience with manufacturing automation deployments.
• Experience in robotics, AI/ML, or advanced automation development.
• Full-stack mindset for end-to-end solutions; not just AI algorithms.
• Hands-on experience in at least two areas from CV, ML/DL, Robotics, Python/C++/ROS, and sensor types.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and deploy AI-enabled robotic solutions to improve manufacturing capability, flexibility, and performance.
• Develop and implement computer vision, ML, and sensor fusion for real-world manufacturing (bin picking, part handling, inspection).
• Build and optimize AI models for industrial hardware with latency and compute constraints.
• Bridge AI scripts with industrial automation.
• Use simulation tools (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo) for concept validation and synthetic data generation.
• Lead equipment trials, debugging, and performance validation from proof-of-concept to production.
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, and plant teams to integrate AI into production.
• Evaluate emerging Physical AI technologies via benchmarking and supplier engagement.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and manufacturability with standards alignment.
• Present concepts and results to stakeholders and leadership.
• Manage contractors to design testing cells and document outcomes.
