Appian is seeking a product management-driven professional to own a prioritized backlog within a fast-paced engineering team at its McLean, VA headquarters. You will influence product roadmaps, collaborate with stakeholders, and shape features through UX reviews and usability testing.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a strong academic record.
• Experience in a professional, academic, or technical setting (internships, research, capstones, or consistent part-time/full-time employment).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a professional environment.
• Fluency in AI and LLMs, including strategic development of AI-powered platform capabilities and hands-on AI tool use.

Responsibilities

• Own the backlog as the dedicated product owner for a small engineering team, prioritizing the backlog for high-quality delivery.
• Drive vision and roadmaps by collaborating with stakeholders to align with enterprise software strategy.
• Champion user experience through design sessions, mockups, UX reviews, and usability testing to ensure user success before release.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and business units to ensure smooth feature rollouts in an agile environment.

Education

Bachelor's in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Effective written and verbal communication

Experience in professional/academic/technical setting
