Job summary

Object Computing is a St. Louis-based software consultancy of about 130 engineers, designers, and technologists. We build AI, data, and cloud systems for clients in financial services, healthcare, aerospace, and government, and we've shipped production software for over 30 years.

As a Principal Engineer at OCI, you will lead discovery, shape rollout plans with client executives, and build rapid PoCs. You will guide production deployments in client clouds, mentor teams, and ensure architectural

Qualifications

Experience leading AI-first engagements and evaluating GenAI solutions.
Proven track record shipping production systems in at least one domain.
Ability to read and judge code generated by AI.
Strong architectural skills across applications, data, and cloud.
Experience with client discovery and executive-level communication.
Ability to coach engineers and unblock teams.

Responsibilities

Lead lightweight discovery across core business processes.
Shape a rollout plan with executives and agree on what to tackle first.
Build the proof of concept yourself, quickly, to show what AI-powered apps can do.
Lead the follow-on build: set architecture, testing, security, and IaC, and ship to production.
Unblock the team, improve how it works, and coach OCI engineers.
Serve as the technical point of contact for the client sponsor and bring learnings back to OCI.
