Job summary

Frec Markets, Inc. is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee thousands of customer portfolios and help build an AI-driven experience that gives every Frec customer access to a personal portfolio manager.

You’ll work with the investment team and engineers to scale portfolio management, monitor performance, and ensure tax-aware investing with licensed oversight where needed. This is a highly technical role for someone with deep long/short equity expertise and a builder’s mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quantitative equity portfolio management.
• Experience with long/short strategies preferred.
• STEM degree and programming in Python/SQL.
• Strong communication with investors and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee thousands of customized equity accounts and monitor performance vs benchmarks.
• Define automated checks for tracking error, cash balances, and factor exposures.
• Refine portfolio construction, risk monitoring, attribution, and test new investment capabilities.
• Design alerts to surface unexpected behavior and guide human judgment.
• Explain performance to customers and translate insights into product requirements.
