Job summary

Mastercard's FABRIC team seeks a Platform Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in St. Louis, MO. You will help codify institutional knowledge into automated, IaC-based workflows and build machine-managed AI and Operations capabilities that support real-time dashboards and operational excellence.

You'll gain mentorship, network with peers and leaders, and work on projects that align with business priorities while expanding your Python and automation skills in a fast-paced payments environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with expected graduation between Dec 2027 and Jun 2029.
• Experience with Python development and scripting.
• Familiarity with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Experience with Git or other source control tools.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
• Exposure to AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies.
• Preferred Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC) experience.

Responsibilities

• Codify organizational knowledge across Compute, Storage, Mainframe, and HP platforms into AI-driven operations.
• Develop and maintain a machine-managed AI & Operations platform using IaC patterns and standardized workflows.
• Deliver real-time dashboards showing tasks, automation adoption, platform health, and KPIs across payments infrastructure.
• Accelerate modernization by enabling self-service automation and continuous improvement across platforms.
