Signet Jewelers Limited is seeking a highly hands-on Platform Engineer who builds cloud-native Java applications on AWS for ecommerce and prototypes AI-powered solutions. This remote role sits at the intersection of AI, cloud engineering, and automation, collaborating with product and architecture teams.

Responsibilities include designing cloud services, prototyping AI solutions, automating development, and mentoring engineers while exploring Bedrock and related AI platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Java engineering experience.
• Experience building APIs, microservices and cloud-native services.
• Familiar with AWS and modern AI/Bedrock platforms.
• Ability to prototype and productionize AI-powered solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud-native services and platform capabilities using Java and AWS.
• Prototype and productionize AI-powered solutions using AWS Bedrock & LLMs.
• Improve engineering productivity through automation and AI-assisted development.
• Partner with architecture and product teams to solve commerce challenges.
• Help manage Akamai/CDN and edge capabilities.
• Build integrations using APIs, serverless services and event-driven architectures.
• Explore emerging AI technologies and recommend practical adoption.
• Contribute code daily and mentor engineers through example.
