Job summary

Heitmeyer Consulting is seeking a Senior Associate Platform Engineer in Plano, TX, offering a hybrid work model with 1–2 days per week in the office. You will help develop enterprise platform services, automation, and AI-enabled development lifecycle tools.

The role emphasizes SDLC automation, cloud engineering, DevOps, and AI-driven development. You will implement CI/CD pipelines, IaC, observability, and self-service capabilities to improve engineering productivity and reliability.

Qualifications

2–5 years of hands-on software or platform engineering experience.
Experience programming in one or more modern programming languages.
Experience building automation solutions, engineering platforms, developer tools.
Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
At least one cloud certification: AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Digital Leader.

Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Developer Experience: Build scalable platform services and reusable APIs/tools.
Automation & AI-Enabled Engineering: Design automation across the SDLC and enable AI-powered workflows.
AI Engineering & Agent Platforms: Develop AI agents and orchestration for engineering tasks.
Cloud & DevOps: Develop cloud-native solutions in AWS and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
Observability & Reliability: Implement monitoring, logging, and reliability improvements.
Security & Governance: Integrate security controls and policy enforcement across pipelines.
