Job summary

McKinsey & Company seeks data and AI professionals to drive end-to-end supply chain optimization and AI-enabled analytics across industries. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams on S&OP, production planning, scheduling, network design, and logistics, delivering scalable frameworks and open-source components like Kedro.

Based in Atlanta, Boston, or New York, you’ll apply operations research methods to real client challenges, present to leadership, and help accelerate AI adoption while growing

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required (this role must be able to be staffed on Critical Industries work which includes Defense, Aerospace, Utilities, etc.)
• Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD level in a discipline such as: computer science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, engineering or artificial intelligence
• 5+ years of deep technical experience in operations research/optimization or related data science work
• Programming experience in languages such as: Python, C++, Java
• Proven application of operations research methods in the commercial world
• Knowledge of standard software development tools and best practices (testing, version control, CI/CD, etc.)
• Understanding of supply chain concepts such as supply chain strategy, production planning, scheduling, network design, inventory, and logistics
• Previous experience in NLP or generative AI, including model development or application design and deployment, is highly desirable.
• Tech stack includes Python, PySpark, PyData stack, SQL, Airflow, Databricks, Kedro, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure
• Willingness to travel
• Good presentation and communication skills, with a knack for explaining complex analytical concepts to people from other fields

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to create AI/ML products and platforms for large-scale client challenges
• Apply operations research methods to end-to-end supply chain planning, from S&OP to network design and logistics
• Develop analytics tools and open‑source components (Kedro, ARK) to enable data/AI practitioners
• Present results to client leadership and implement recommendations to improve operations
