Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience.
• 5+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 7-10 engineers focused on network boundary protection, access controls, and vulnerability management across AWS's global infrastructure.
• Define and execute the strategic vision for securing AWS' operational network from device provisioning through decommissioning leveraging existing software or developing new ones.
• Drive adoption of AI/ML-powered security solutions, including anomaly detection, automated reasoning for configuration validation, and machine learning for exposure identification.
• Own end-to-end security validation processes, ensuring consistent enforcement of access protection policies at scale.
• Partner cross-functionally with Infrastructure Security teams to identify gaps, reduce risk, and raise the security bar.
• Establish and track operational metrics to measure team effectiveness, tool coverage, and operational readiness.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Communicate security posture, risks, and strategic priorities to senior leadership with clarity and precision.
• Champion continuous improvement through automation, tooling investments, and process optimization to stay ahead of evolving threats.
