Job summary

Amazon Optics Analytics is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead ML-powered analytics and automation for security decisions across AWS and Amazon. You will work with engineers and applied scientists to build scalable ML systems that protect all Amazon locations and preserve user trust.

You will own end-to-end ML pipelines and production serving, driving initiative and ownership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 3+ years building machine learning models for business applications.
• Knowledge of engineering practices across the full software/hardware/networks lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and applied scientists building ML-driven analytics and automation services.
• Own the full lifecycle of ML systems from data pipelines to production serving.
• Partner with security operations customers to identify automation opportunities.
• Drive technical strategy for analytics services processing security signals in real time.
• Independently own a software architecture with significant business impact.
• Define a customer-focused vision and translate it into the product.
• Mitigate risks and resolve roadblocks proactively.
• Mentor the team to improve code quality via reviews and best practices.
