Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Business Analyst to partner with product managers, data scientists, and risk teams to advance AI-driven mortgage and home equity origination solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of direct experience with project management responsibilities.

• Strong understanding of project management techniques and testing processes.
• Ability to develop test schedules, review testing plans, track issues, and report results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and related tools.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Experience in mortgage lending or related consumer lending environments (preferred).
• Knowledge of AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI-powered solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers, stakeholders, data scientists, and technology teams to support AI-driven mortgage/home equity origination solutions.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow designs.
• Define data requirements, model inputs/outputs, decisioning logic, and workflow integrations.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment through requirements workshops and backlog refinement.
• Support test planning, user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, and validation of AI solutions.
• Contribute to AI governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and audit documentation.
• Engage in KPI tracking, continuous improvement, dependency management, and Agile delivery activities.

Job description

• The Business Analyst partners with product managers, business stakeholders, data scientists, and technology teams to support the delivery of AI-driven solutions that enhance and modernize the end-to-end Mortgage and Home Equity origination experience.
• This role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and translating business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow designs that enable the successful development and implementation of AI-powered capabilities.
• Collaborates across the origination lifecycle to define data requirements, model inputs and outputs, decisioning logic, and workflow integrations while ensuring business context is incorporated into solution design and evaluation.
• Facilitates stakeholder alignment through requirements workshops, backlog refinement, and cross-functional working sessions, serving as a liaison between business and technical teams.
• Responsibilities include supporting test planning, user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, and validation of AI-driven solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
• Supports AI governance, model risk management, regulatory compliance, audit documentation, and control requirements, partnering with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure solutions meet established standards.
• Contributes to performance measurement, KPI tracking, continuous improvement initiatives, dependency management, and Agile delivery activities to help drive successful adoption and business outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
• 10 or more years of direct experience with project management responsibilities
• Ability to conduct an analysis of business needs, including scheduling meetings, planning agendas, conferring with business line leaders, documenting and making verbal and written presentations
• Strong understanding and use of project management techniques and testing processes and supervises their use
• Ability to develop test schedules, review testing plans, track test issues and report on test results
• Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
• Strong project management, organization and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills
• Extensive knowledge of a business line or function area
• Experience in mortgage lending, home equity lending, or related consumer lending environments.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), large language models (LLMs), and AI-powered solutions, with experience supporting or implementing AI capabilities within a business environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically, challenge conventional approaches, and provide innovative insights that drive business and process improvements.
• Forward-thinking mindset with a passion for emerging technologies, continuous improvement, and transforming customer and employee experiences.
• Ability to evaluate complex business challenges and recommend creative, data-driven solutions that support organizational objectives.
