Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Software Development Manager for the ACX group in Seattle. The role leads mobile (iOS/Android) and connector platform efforts, delivering AI-powered features across the Amazon Connect Engagement Experience.

You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and drive end-to-end delivery with cross-functional teams in AWS. The position emphasizes balancing rapid innovation with reliability, security, and responsible AI, while growing a diverse, inclusive engineering

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting multi-tier web services.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and delivery of mobile (iOS/Android) and connector platform from design through GA launch and beyond.
• Partner with product and science teams to deliver AI features that simplify complex business processes.
• Lead, hire, and develop a team of engineers building native mobile experiences and third-party integrations.
• Drive technical strategy for real-time communication and mobile-first customer engagement experiences.
• Coordinate dependencies and architecture with cross-functional teams across AWS to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Establish and maintain operational excellence—own availability, latency, and quality metrics.
• Represent the team in roadmap planning, business reviews, and leadership discussions.
• Balance rapid experimentation with security, compliance, and responsible AI development.
• Mentor engineers and managers, raising technical and leadership bar across the organization.
