Job summary

2 Hour Learning seeks a Math Curriculum Designer to advance K-12 fluency through AI-driven curriculum refinement, practice sequences, assessments, scaffolds, and interventions. You will analyze performance data, develop targeted progressions, and ensure accuracy and clarity in explanations.

Role emphasizes leveraging LLMs, no-code automation, and agentic AI to maximize learning outcomes, with a hybrid on-campus/remote setup at times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering, Physics, or related quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in math instruction, curriculum design, assessment creation or learning design with focus on fluency and automaticity.
• Deep K-12 math content knowledge: accuracy, rigor, sequencing, misconceptions, fluency progression, grade standards.
• Working knowledge of learning science principles like mastery learning, direct instruction, scaffolding, cognitive load management, retrieval practice, deliberate practice.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools to enhance educational outcomes (LLMs, content creation, no-code automation, APIs).
• Capability to analyze student learning data to uncover fluency barriers and refine curriculum and assessments.
• Strong written communication skills for clear mathematical explanations.

Responsibilities

• Identify deficits in fluency, retention, speed and accuracy by analyzing data and student work samples.
• Pinpoint obstacles to automaticity, including sequencing gaps, scaffolds, feedback, assessments, or interventions.
• Apply AI tools to redesign practice progressions, explanations, scaffolds, and interventions.
• Refine questions, explanations, distractors, rubrics, and assessments to uncover misconceptions.
• Review AI-generated materials for mathematical accuracy, grade appropriateness, and rigor.
