Job summary

PlanetScale is seeking a software engineer to build internal tools that automate manual work across engineering, support, and operations. You’ll develop AI-enabled bots, dashboards, and integrations for Slack and PagerDuty while embedding LLM APIs into internal systems.

Role requires 0–2 years of software engineering experience, solid fundamentals in TypeScript, Ruby, or Go, and the ability to work in the SF Bay Area in-office. visas sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent project work.
• Solid fundamentals in at least one of TypeScript, Ruby, or Go.
• Comfortable building with AI coding tools and LLM APIs.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• In-office at SF headquarters most days; SF Bay Area resident.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-enabled tools and agents that automate manual work across engineering, support, and operations.
• Write bots and integrations for Slack, PagerDuty, and other systems.
• Build internal dashboards to show what is happening.
• Integrate LLM APIs into internal systems you build.
• Own projects end to end: design, build, ship, support.
