Job summary

X-energy LLC is seeking an AI & Digital Engineering Engineer to join the AI Solutions Tiger Team, accelerating Xe-100 reactor development by designing production-ready, AI-native applications and the platform that supports them.

You will apply modern LLMs, agentic AI, and cloud-native engineering to move engineering data toward a living, queryable model spanning requirements, design, manufacturing, and deployment. This role helps position X-energy as an AI-first organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Fifteen years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and AI-enhanced development tools (Claude Code).
• Ability to work in a hybrid Rockville, MD schedule (Tue–Thu in-office).

Responsibilities

• Develop production-ready AI solutions in a tiger-team environment.
• Leverage Claude Code and AI-assisted development tools for rapid iteration and maintenance.
• Apply LLM and AI-system knowledge to support AI-native architecture.
• Coordinate with systems-engineering, licensing and QA to meet regulatory expectations.
• Document architecture decisions and integration patterns; support knowledge transfer.
