Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Head of Engineering in a hybrid role based in Pleasanton, CA. You will own architecture and delivery for a core product domain in the supply chain platform, balancing business outcomes with technical excellence and organizational scale.

You will lead a lean, high-performing engineering organization, mentor leads and engineers, and drive an AI-enabled SDLC. This role reports to the CTO and will partner with Product, Security, Ops, and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 6+ years in engineering leadership managing senior engineers and teams.
• Experience owning delivery, architecture, and outcomes for a product/domain in production.
• Strong technical expertise with modern software architecture, distributed systems, cloud platforms.
• Ability to review code, evaluate architecture, and lead technical decision-making.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, LLMs, or agentic workflows.
• Proven success building high-output teams in lean organizations.
• Experience leading geographically distributed and offshore teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for architecture, delivery, quality and performance within your domain.
• Drive technical strategy and execution aligned with company objectives.
• Make critical decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Lead engineering leads and senior engineers, coordinating offshore and distributed teams.
• Develop future technical leaders and strengthen the engineering bench.
• Own architecture and system design for large-scale, mission-critical applications.
• Present strategy, risks, and progress to executives and board stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Ops and executive leadership to align roadmaps.
